Duration

12 weeks

Key Objective

Create a commercial to promote The International Film Festival of Australia for the 2025 Awards night.

Phases

  • Pre-Production

  • Production

  • Post-Production

Script

A script idea was provided however, it had issues and needed reworking to suit criteria.

Storyboard/shot-list

This was created once the script had been finalised. Based on the script I had a vision in mind and transformed this onto the pages.

Characters

Here I described the personality and appearance of each of the characters as well as what they wear. This would give the actors an more context to their character.

Equipment

This list provided a checklist of all the equipment that was needed on the day of the shoot so everything was taken on the day.

Loctation Scouting

We needed to find a location that was busy but not too busy. Here, it was crucial we had a look at the place before the day of the shoot.

Call Sheet

This sheet included the contact details of everyone on the day so that if someone or something was needed it could be accessed.

Director of Production

My pre-production was chosen to be taken into the production stage. This production took place over one day so it was crucial that I was prepared as director to lead the crew and cast. It also involved refining the shot-list ensuring the complicated shots were considered and shot first since time would be limited. On the day, I communicated clearly and briefed everyone what I expected from them on the day. I feel I truly thrived in this role.
